This privacy policy explains how Altus Diagnostic Pvt. Ltd. (“Altus Lab”, “we”, “us”), SCO 35, Sector 16-D, Chandigarh 160015, collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use altuslab.in and its pages, book a test with us, or give us a sample. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
1. What we collect
- Contact and booking details: your name, mobile number, email address, city, state and the address for sample collection, the test you choose, and whether a doctor advised it.
- Health information: your sample, your doctor’s prescription if you share it, details needed for the test (such as age, sex and relevant history), and your test results and report. We treat this as sensitive personal data.
- Payment details: online payments are handled by secure third-party payment providers. We do not store your card or bank details.
- Messages and calls: what you send us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone.
- Website usage data: pages visited, buttons clicked, device and browser type, approximate location and how you reached our website, collected through cookies (see section 5).
2. How we use it
- To confirm your booking, arrange sample collection and transport, perform the test and send you the report.
- To contact you about your booking, preparation, payment and report.
- To keep laboratory records as required by law and by our NABL accreditation.
- To answer questions and complaints.
- To understand how our website is used and to measure our advertising (section 5). We never use your health information for advertising.
We use your data only for these purposes, on the basis of your consent or where the law allows it, such as for medical records.
3. Who we share it with
- Partner laboratories: almost all tests are performed in our own laboratory. If a specialised test has to be processed by a partner laboratory, that laboratory receives only what is needed to run the test.
- Sample collection and transport partners: to collect and deliver your sample.
- Your doctor: if you ask us to share your report.
- Service providers who help us run our services, such as website hosting, our lab software, WhatsApp, email and payment providers. They may use your data only to provide that service.
- Government authorities when the law requires it, for example for notifiable diseases.
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
4. Your reports
We send reports on WhatsApp or by email, to the mobile number or email address you give us. Please make sure these details are correct and tell us if they change.
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads conversion tracking. These set cookies that tell us which pages and adverts lead to enquiries. When you send a booking request, we record a booking reference, the test chosen and its price. We do not send your name, phone number, address or health details to Google.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and manage ads from Google at adssettings.google.com.
6. How long we keep it
We keep test records and reports for as long as the law and our accreditation require. Enquiries that do not become a booking are kept only as long as needed to respond to you. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable security measures to protect your data, including access controls, so that only authorised staff can see your health information. No system is completely secure, but we work to prevent misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
8. Children
Many of our tests are for children. For anyone under 18, we collect and use personal data only with the consent of a parent or lawful guardian, who books the test on the child’s behalf.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update your data;
- delete your data, except records we must keep by law;
- withdraw your consent (this does not affect what was done before you withdrew it, and we may not be able to provide a service without the data it needs);
- nominate someone to act for you if you are unable to.
